“Squid Game Season 3” has maintained the No. 1 spot on Netflix in 93 countries for over a week since its release, continuing its global phenomenon.

According to FlixPatrol, a global OTT ranking aggregation site, the Netflix original series “Squid Game Season 3” ranked No. 1 on the global Netflix TV show chart in 93 countries as of July 4 (local time).

The series was released on June 27 and quickly rose to the top spot in 93 countries the very next day, June 28. It has now held that position for a full week, drawing even more attention.

“Squid Game” tells the story of individuals who participate in a mysterious survival competition with a prize of 45.6 billion KRW, risking their lives to emerge as the final winner. Since the debut of Season 1 in 2021 and the release of Season 2

last year, every season has topped Netflix's global rankings.

Seasons 1 and 2 of “Squid Game” have recorded a cumulative total of 600 million views on Netflix, making it one of the platform’s most popular original series to date. While the series has received mixed reviews in Korea—some even harshly critical—the overwhelming global response raises expectations for what new records Season 3 might set.

“Squid Game Season 3” follows Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who re-enters the game with a new purpose after winning in Season 1, only to lose his closest friend. It also follows the mysterious Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun), who returns to the game in disguise, and the final fate of the remaining survivors. As the finale of the series, “Squid Game Season 3” has attracted even greater global attention.
